erster krinker Anniversary Books (1940, 1945 and 1951)

The Erster Krinker Unterstitzungs Verein was organized in 1915. The Ladies Auxiliary was organized five years later, in 1920. In addition, there is a First Krinker Aid Society section at Waldheim Cemetery, located at Gate 225. According to Sidney Sorkin's Bridges to an American City, there were six groups which went by the name Krinker, two of which met in the old Jewish Peoples Institute in the 1930s. In 1922, the verein had a membership of 120 and the Ladies Auxiliary has a membership of 70. The group is named for the town, which is located northeast of Bialystok.

There are three volumes in the collection of Erster Krinker Anniversary Books:

  • 1915-1940 Souvenir of the 25th Anniversary held October 1940,
  • 1915-1945 Banquet Celebration of the 30th Anniversary held November 1945, and
  • 1915-1950, the 35th Anniversary held in January 1951

(Transliterations of these names are included in the online records.) Page 67 has "Greetings from the Bialystoker Ladies Auxiliary" with a list of ten names.

The 30th Anniversary Banquet Celebration Krinker Aid Society and the 25th Anniversary of the Ladies Auxiliary book has 82 pages, consisting mainly of compliments and tributes. There is a version of this picture with a list of the Officers and Committee members that may be included in this photograph.

The 35th Anniversary of the Verein and the 30th Anniversary of the Ladies Auxiliary has 66 pages. Page 4 has a photograph of twenty "Officers and Executive Board Members of the Verein and the Ladies Aux(iliary)". Page 30 lists Officers and Members of the Krinker Verein of Los Angeles.
