- The subject database -

The JGSI Jewish Chicago Resource Portal (JCRP) is a searchable database that spans many Jewish Chicago sources. JCRP helps genealogists research their family history by subject - from "Anshes and Archives" to "Yeshivas and Yizkor Books" - by combining our historical records with public resources on Chicago's Jewish history.

JGSI is proud to offer free access to both members and non-members. This database is the result of many volunteer hours. New information is added over time, so please check back.

For additional information, see the links below.

JGSI's subject database, JCRP, along with JJCD (our name database containing over 120,000 names of Jews who lived in Chicago), makes a great first place to look as you pursue your family history.
