This 7 p.m. Central Time Zoom session is for JGSI members only.

This special online-only event will feature JGSI member Suzanne Hoffman walking us through the remarkable changes at FamilySearch in 2025, focusing on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we research our ancestors. With powerful new full-text search tools, researchers can now uncover names and places that were previously buried in handwritten documents and images. The AI Research Assistant offers sourced hints in response to specific questions—far beyond the shaky leaf—and a redesigned catalog enables more precise filtering and targeted results.

Suzanne will also provide an update on what’s happening locally at the Wilmette FamilySearch Center, including how the center continues to help researchers access records that may seem to have disappeared online.

Please register/RSVP by clicking the button at left.

About the speaker: Suzanne Hoffman, “The Genealogy Maven,” is president of the Association of Professional Genealogists, a professional forensic genealogist, secretary and advocacy chair of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, and assistant director of the Wilmette FamilySearch Center. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in Eastern European and immigration research—especially Lithuanian and Russian records—and is a volunteer with IAJGS 2025.
