My Cousin, The Gangster

Mike Karsen, president of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois, will present this program following the Annual Meeting and election of officers.

Karsen will explain how he sorted through information in newspapers, books and websites to determine what was true and what was speculation about his relative Frank Frost, AKA Frank Foster, a real Chicago gangster who worked for Al Capone.

Besides being active in JGSI, Karsen is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speakers Guild, and he compiled JewishGen’s “Guide to Jewish Genealogy in Chicagoland.”
The JGSI meeting facilities will open at 12:30 p.m. to accommodate members/guests who want to use genealogy library materials, get help with genealogy websites on the Internet, or ask genealogical questions before the main program begins. For more information phone 312-666-0100.
